Prayer For All Who Are Abused

You chose, O loving God,
to enter this world
quietly, humbly, and as an outcast.
Hear our prayers
on behalf of all who are abused:

For children,
who suffer at the hands
of parents whom they trust and love;
for spouses,
beaten and destroyed
by the very one
who promised to love
and to cherish them forever;
for all people
ignored, hated and cheated.
by the very neighbor
who could be the closest one
to offer your love.

Hear the cry of the oppressed.
Let the fire of your Spirit fill their hearts
with the power of vision, and hope.
Grant to them empowerment to act,
that they may not be passive victims
of violence and hatred.
Fulfill for them the promises you have made,
that their lives may be transformed
and their oppression ended.

Turn the hearts of the oppressor unto you
that their living may be changed
by your forgiving love;
and their abusive actions
and oppressive ways brought to an end.

Amen.

dear donna...
this was received from pilot-mom.

I have a prayer request for ya'll to be praying. Last week I awoke with a headache and double vision in one eye, my right eye. I managed to dink around for a couple of days thinking it was connected to ear and sinuses.

After talking with my sister (who is so much wiser than I) on Saturday Jim and I decided I needed to go visit the ER at our hospital. Wow!! What service! There was absolutely no waiting! I didn't even get to finish giving my history and stuff before I was in a room! After ruling out "stroke", muscle problems etc. it was determined it is something directly related to the eye.

I am leaving shortly to go see my opthamologist who will be able to give me a diagnosis. After researching (never, ever do this) on line regarding double vision in one eye I became a little nervouse to say the least.

Anyway, all that just to say I need prayer, that my nerves will be calm, the doctor has wisdom, and anything else God lays on your heart. Thanks ever so much!

IN HIS GRIP,
Claire

p.s. For those who have been praying for Pilot, he arrived stateside Saturday morning. What a great way to be awakened! AND, he will be here on the 16th! He's coming for a wedding and for Father's Day! :) Color me HAPPY

Asking for prayer for my sister-in-law, Deb. She's had breast cancer, surgeries, and was ready to start chemo/radiation when a small tumor was detected on her lung. Having surgery soon. Please pray that God is her anchor and for His peace & healing. This has been very hard on my brother as well.

Hugs,
